Last summer, we proposed our first selection of the best restaurants in Formentera to enjoy at lunch time or dinner time. And now we’re in the middle of the 2017 summer season, we are adding another 5 restaurants to our recommendations in case you’ve already tried the first five addresses we gave you on your last holidays ;-). So note these down, book a table in the restaurant that makes your mouth water and, bon appetit!

 

1. Es Codol Foradat

If you feel like eating paella on the seafront, visit this sea-themed restaurant which has become a classic in the middle section of the beautifully unspoiled beach of Migjorn. Besides its tasty rice dishes, we also recommend the moules marinières for starters. They’re delicious! If you want to make sure you get a table on the terrace overlooking the sea, we suggest you book a day earlier. To get to the restaurant, take the track off the Pilar de la Mola road, Km marker 8.9. 2. Ca Na Joana

The roast lamb with whole grain mustard or the payés chicken tajine are some of the specialities of this romantic restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine in a very old traditional house. Perfect for couples! It’s in Sant Francesc Xavier and only opens in the evenings. We recommend this restaurant for a very special occasion. Web

3. Macondo

In Sant Ferran des Ses Roques, this Italian restaurant is one of the most popular places on the island to eat thin, crusty pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven for lunch or dinner. They don’t book tables, so if you want to make sure you get a table on the terrace in the evening and skip a queue, go before 9.30pm. They have an extensive menu at very affordable prices (take a look at their pastas, they’re also very good). Carrer Major, 1

4. Es Caló

Another essential restaurant in Formentera known for its rice dishes and paellas, good fish and a beautiful sea view. It’s next to the splendid coves of Es Caló and, as with its neighbour restaurant Can Rafalet, you need to book a table to get a table and a sea view. Best if you book it a day earlier. 5. Can Carlos

On the outskirts of Sant Francesc Xavier, this Italian restaurant is well known in Formentera for its sophisticated cuisine (and matching prices). Its romantic patio is one of the most sought out places on the island, so don’t forget to book a table. It only opens in the evenings and it’s the ideal place for a special occasion. Web
