Three beaches of Formentera beyond Ses Illetes
We are aware that you know the most spectacular beach of the island and surely you have already marked it for your first visit in your route around Formentera. This is why this post is not related to Platge de Ses Illetes. Not even to its nearby platge de LLevant, a few meters from it. Now we want to recommend other three beaches that surely deserve a trip to the smallest of the Pitiusas Islands.
Caló des Mort
Close to Es Migjorn Beach is placed this little cove of perceptible seafarers environment and clean turquoise waters. With a group of dry dock huts placed at one of its sides, in the middle of the season is better to reach at the beginning or at the end of the day, due to its small dimensions.
Our recommendation: At lunchtime, go to westbound, to the nearby Caló de Sant Agustí and enjoy an excellent rice at Es Caló Restaurant. You can also have a nap at any of the calm corners that this part of the coast hides.
This long crescent-shaped sandy area with a length of 5 kilometers has kept most of its extension free from buildings, thus, the dunes have a considerable importance in the landscape. Placed at the south, it spans from Es Mal Pas to Es Copinar areas. In summertime it attracts a lot of people but if you leave the popular places is not difficult to find calm and clear stretches.
Our recommendation: Enjoy a romantic sunset in the beach bar 10.7 (Take the exit Ctra de la Mola , Km. 10,7)
The cliffs are the protagonist of the northwest coast of Formentera, where it opens almost like a natural miracle this beautiful natural bay, highly valued by the family tourism. You will find a beautiful group of dry dock huts and the chance to walk through the steep coast. An objection? Due to its orientation Cala Saona is exposed to jellyfish shoals, therefore, pay attention if you notice the western wind.
Our recommendation: at the sunset, reach Faro de Cap Barbaria.
